I’ve caught up to processing the video I’ve shot this summer, and have posted three new 15-minute videos on YouTube. I do almost all of my railfanning at lunch, which limits my range to west St Louis County. You never know what may come along, even if it’s the same locations. Just yesterday I passed on shooting any video because it was cold & windy with dark clouds; not ideal for shooting anything. I new an eastbound UP was approaching Valley Park, bu rather than scramble up the embankment to shoot another UP coal train in those conditions, I chose to watch & eat my lunch.
Well, it wasn’t a coal train. It was a wind farm parts train, with blades, motors & such, an would have still looked cool on video. Lesson learned: shoot it anyway. You can always delete it or just not post it if it’s not worthy.
