June train show double-header!
I will be at the Galesburg Scale Train Show Saturday June 27 at the Knights of Columbus in Galesburg, 1556 E Fremont St, then the next day at the Decatur Train Fair, Decatur Civic Center, #1 Gary Anderson Plaza from 11-4. Above Left – Santa Fe’s combined Super Chief/El Capitan, train #1-18 passes Peck Park as it departs Galesburg nearly 30 minutes late at 10:37am on June 19, 1966. The scheduled time was 10:10am. (Clyde Anderson) Above Right – In Decatur, passengers wait on the platform as train #124-304, the combined Blue Bird/Cannonball has arrived in January 1969. The trains were combined out of St Louis and split in Decatur for Chicago and Detroit, respectively. (Mike Schafer)
